Another project with Anita Gonzalez, Professor of Theatre and Racial Studies at Georgtown, Washing DC, USA. Concentrating on the prominent African-American suffragette, this story tells the conflict between the black and white communities even in protest organisations.
This show was scored for live singing, some original songs and some songs from the 1900s, with a string trio playing live with the actors. It was a fascinating piece, worked on over a few weeks in October and November 2022 (at the tail-end of the Kite Runner Broadway run). Jonathan made two residential visits to the University and worked on the show remotely while in the UK, helping to provide musical direction and any support Anita needed.
